Our campaign is by locals, for locals. Therefore it is important to ask residents and bus users directly what they think about the cuts and changes to the services, and how this has impacted them. You can see on our website Testimonials page, we have had lots of comments on experiences and opinions received via email or on our site.

We also want to make sure that those who do not use the internet are reached, and their voices are heard, because they will be some of the most impacted by these changes.

For this reason, we put together an easy to fill in survey which was published in the Colden Common Village Newsletter - please see this below:

Locals were able to drop this in to the Parish Council at Colden Common Community Centre. If you know someone who is affected and wants to write to us, this is the best place to deliver it to.

All of our responses to this survey came from people who were not already following us on Facebook, which indicates it has reached those who do not use social media often, which was our hope.

Just over a third of people asked use the bus service because they cannot drive. It is a lifeline for these people. A massive 78% of people asked used the 61 bus service for shopping, closely followed by a huge 61% of those surveyed using it to get to hospital appointments and dental appointments.

These are services that people cannot live without.

Without this bus, there are residents stuck using expensive taxis, having to find someone to give them a lift, or really just not even going out at all - to see friends, but also, to get food, to look after their health. It is having an impact on mental and physical health.

Other transport needs that were flagged up by people in the survey were to visit family, visit friends, and to use the train station at Eastleigh.

We have also since published an advertisement for B.O.B in the Allbrook Village Newsletter as well, because this area is so highly affected it has lost of it's only bus route! It will be interesting to see the what responses we receive to this, we hope it will help reach those who are not online in Allbrook.

On our socials, we have also been polling our over-300 followers on various aspects of losing / changing the bus services, with some interesting findings.

Please see below some screenshots of some of our polls:

Out of those polled, all said the 61 bus cut had affected them, some people occasionally but for most it has impacted all sides of their life the majority of the time.

An overwhelming 99% of those asked were concerned about their safety on the bus on the motorway - and the possibility of having to stand up whilst on the carriageway!

If you would like to vote on our polls above, please just click the images above to take you to each poll.

We will have more polls to come soon! - If you have any suggestions on what else it would be good to ask, or you have an opinion or testimonial you would like to share, please just send us an email or fill in the contact form on our website.
